My favorite hobby is traveling. I have been to a lot of interesting places and I hope to go to many more. In fact, I have two trips on the horizon, one definite and one tentative. You’ve already heard about the definite one–the honeymoon trip to Nevis. I got that booked today. We don’t have tickets yet, because I’ve seen them cheaper than they’re coming up now, so I’m going to ride that out for a while.
Now, for the exciting tentative trip: Tomar, Portugal. Denny’s been invited to present at a conference there that’s related to a project he worked on for an anthropology professor here. And what am I going to do, not tag along? In the words of Holly‘s student, “Shah!”
It’s tentative because it’s unlikely that our department has the budget to pay for Denny’s trip, so he’s looking for outside funding sources. I don’t think there’s any possible way I could get funding (though the professor suggested perhaps that I translate the paper into Spanish and deliver it for him; kind of a long shot considering that’s not my job, but it doesn’t hurt to ask). Still, I’m finding some potential good deals on flights at Sky Auction.
