Fancy food

It was a soggy, soggy weekend.  Well, Friday was good.  I’d like to thank all of you who helped make my Friday really great.  You know who you are.

Saturday was nice too, come to think of it.  Denny’s mom and cousin came (his cousin ran soggily in River Run on Sunday) and we went out for a lovely dinner.  I had many wonderful things, including a pork belly-mango amuse bouche, a citrus-shrimp bruschette, and free-range chicken with morels.  Forget Christmas; morel season is the most wonderful time of the year.  It’s supposed to be very warm tomorrow, and rain + heat makes for lots of tasty morels.
If I had the hardware, I’d make this.  I’ve never been to El Bulli, but I’m going to before I die (subgoal:  before I’m 35), I deeply swear it.  I’ve been to Berasategui, who’s in the same culinary camp (I even met him!  He was nice!  The staff kept speaking French to me which is weird because it’s in Spain!), but it seems like I should hit El Bulli too.
