Rhubarb
While I was out of town, Denny and his dad cut back the rhubarb. This is what it looks like now.
But don’t fret; I have plenty in the freezer in case I get an urge to make rhubarb barbs.

Listening to: “Come on up to the House,” by Tom Waits.
Reading: Just finished Shorts, a collection of semi-related short stories by Chilean author Alberto Fuguet. I really liked it a lot. The short story is my favorite genre, especially the Latin American short story. Classes on that topic were my favorite part of college and grad school. I picked up another book at the library, a collection of horror short stories. I’ll report back if it’s good.
Smelling: cedar mulch. DC got a bunch of it and it is overwhelming my olfactory world.
Tasting: Extra Classic Bubblegum. I go through a lot of that stuff.
Cooking for dinner: freezer-found pork loin, crusted with cumin and garlic (actually my nice husband is going to grill it); asparagus; potato salad.
