Tuesday
Oh my lord. The conference leader just told us to stand up, which we all did. Then he said we needed to turn to the person next to us and give him/her a 20-second hug.
Do you have any idea how long a 20-second hug is for someone who hates strangers, such as myself? These weren’t complete strangers; I’ve been working with them in a team and went out to dinner with them last night, but it takes me a long time to warm up to people. I knew Denny for years before I even knew what he smelled like, because I am a firm believer in personal space.
Luckily, the guy was just kidding. They keep talking about taking us out of our comfort zones, which I suspect is an excuse for the planning team being disorganized.  When people mention that the instructions for the group project are unclear, the answer we get is that it’s intentionally vague, meant to take us out of our comfort zones.
All right.
We also did this hippie thing where we took a personality profile to figure out what Native American animal we are in the work environment. I’m a buffalo. That means I’m action-oriented, punctual, positive, and a wee bit power hungry. Ahem.
