recapping the stone
Update: I’m stuck on puzzle 5 now. Anybody? Anybody?
—
Is anybody else hooked on Antiriddle? I started playing it last night, and it is very fun, but very vexing. I’m stuck on the third puzzle right now. If anybody wants to engage in a conversation of gentle hints (not spoilers), let me know.
The weekend was pretty fun. Denny got sunburned at a mediocre football game on Saturday, then we went to two different family parties on Sunday. The first one was a 50th anniversary party for DC’s aunt and uncle. The invitation to it indicated that it was for “Mr. and Mrs. John [Denny’s mom’s maiden name].” In the world of normal people, that would indicate that the party would mostly be attended by Denny’s mom’s side of the family.
But no. Nothing is ever simple with that group.
Denny’s mom and dad are both from big families from the same small town, so apparently it happened more than once that someone from family A married family B. That means that last names tell you nothing about the attendance at any given event. This gathering happened to be on Denny’s dad’s side, though you never would have known it without thorough research. I told Denny that maybe by our 50th anniversary, I’ll have his family sorted out. I wish they’d all wear nametags with simple family trees on them.
Later that night, we went to a party my parents threw. No one was related to anyone, outside of immediate families, as far as I can tell.
We had good Thai food with my parents on Monday and dinked around in an antique shop downtown. Denny’s favorite thing was Hopalong Cassidy underpants.
