Things are still a little screwy with WordPress, but in good news, it seems like I’m finding my way around. Old posts look kind of funny (some strange character substitutions, at least here on Firefox 3.0.7), but at least my embedded video is back, and I see Viper’s Video Quicktags are now working and offer a Flickr option.
So…tentative yay.
Thanks for your help, SuperMegaCrall.
I just invented that new nickname for Denny.
Yeah, I’ve experienced the character translation issues, too, so all my old posts have funky things now. I think it’s a difference in character sets (ISO vs. UTF-8 or something) but I haven’t pinned it down.
Don’t forget to test a straight copy-n-paste of the flickr video embed code before you mess with the quicktags.
Oy, quicktags. Great, unless you plan to export your content (you know, for posterity) or, say, change plugins at some point in the future. I hate the idea of quicktags.
Nathan, there’s a language setting in the wp-config that was new as of 2.2 or something. If you comment that line out, WP will default back to latin1, which was there previous default. Of course if you now have a mix of differently encoded posts you have additional problems.
