sadness/anger/general unpleasantness
I am so sad for London.
I am sad for London and I am angry at the U.S. government.
Terrorist attacks happened in New York, they happened in Madrid, they happened in London, and they’re going to keep happening. You know why? Because we’re fighting the wrong war. It makes me so angry that my soon-to-be brother-in-law is being sent to Iraq for the third time this fall, this time to Fallujah, when the real threat is clearly not from Iraq. In fact, Osama bin Laden thought Saddam Hussein was dangerously secular–he was on Osama’s hit list too. So why are we wasting billions of dollars, and worst of all, continuing to put our soldiers in harm’s way when the danger is coming not from a single nation, but from pockets of fanatics with footholds all over the world?
Oh, right, it’s because we need an enemy. You can’t truly wage a war on terror, because it’s a concept. So we get this racist war to pacify Americans who think all Middle Easterners are the same, and that fighting someone (anyone) must be the answer.
Support the troops by bringing them home, yo.
