Eek
The day has slipped right past me. I woke up at 6:45 as usual and saw that there was about an inch of snow on the ground. I went out and shoveled and told Denny to take first shower. By the time I got in and showered and ready to go, it had snowed enough more that another shoveling was required. Fortunately, Denny did that.
Denny and I have a deal, see. I do most of th snow shoveling and he does all of the lawn mowing. I don’t think it’s so bad; the mowing season is longer than the shoveling season, and shoveling is good exercise.
Now, of course, the sun is shining and almost all the snow is gone. Spring is so weird.
Wait, lemme get this straight. You do the shoveling, and he does the mowing?
Your ideas intrigue me. I’d like to subscribe to your newsletter.
Yes, I’ve never mowed a lawn and I don’t really know how. I’m afraid of that loud machine with spinning blades. Also, I don’t like to be sweaty when bugs and debris might go on me. Snow-shoveling is the much more glamorous of the propositions.
Plus, in the summer and fall, he has to mow the lawn about twice a week. It seems like we only get a significant snowfall maybe 6 or 8 times over an entire winter.
And, as I mentioned, it’s an amazing shoulder and back workout. RAWR! I WILL CRUSH YOU WITH MY SCAPULAE!
Six or eight times? I shoveled in excess of two inches of snow maybe three times last year. And has it even snowed here at all more than five times this season? More glamorous proposition indeed….
You should try a manual push mower. Those can be fun. Much slower blades and a lot less noise. Also, a nice tall glass of iced tea or tart lemonade (or a mojito) tastes much better after pushing one of those things around the yard for an hour.
