Be afraid, be very afraid. Just kidding! Actually, turning 30 isn’t such a bad thing. It’s a milestone, but it’s not important. Birthdays are meant to be celebrated. So Hurray for you! And don’t look back!
I never understood the anxiety about turning 30. At 35, I think Billy Crystal’s character in City Slickers summed it up best:
“When you’re a teenager you think you can do anything, and you do. Your twenties are a blur. Your thirties, you raise your family, you make a little money and you think to yourself, “What happened to my twenties?”
By the way, Happy Birthday! I hope you had fun in Rome, and by fun, I mean totally overindulged and relaxed.
Congrats on the big three-oh; err, except it’s not really so big. For me my wife wanted to make a big deal out of it and have a party and cake and I’m like “Eh, just another day.” I really don’t miss my 20’s anyway, I wasn’t having much fun OR getting laid. 30-something is way much better! I’m glad your vacation was a good one; we take off for our own to Detroit in a few days. Yes, I did say VACATION IN DETROIT. I can think of much less fun or pleasant places to be, since there is plenty of dining and shopping and extra-curricular activities, not to mention I have family and friends who still live in the area. The only thing I +DON’T+ look forward to is driving through Gary, Indiana on the way.

Hi Aprille, I happened upon your website yesterday. First of all, Happy Birthday!
Second of all, we’re off on vacation in a month. We’ll hit Prague, Krakow and ROME! I’d love to get some details from you.
Again, Happy Birthday!
