Portland for DC
Denny is going to Portland tomorrow for work. I thought about going with him, but then I decided not to for some reason. I don’t actually remember that reason right now; maybe it was related to the upcoming trip to Sarasota. Still, from where I’m sitting, the Sarasota trip seems really far away.
Anyway, Denny had hoped to visit Roloff Farms, the base of operations for the family in Little People, Big World. I don’t know if he’ll actually get that done or not, since it sounds like his schedule is pretty tight. That’s always how it is at conferences; you get so excited to see a new place (see also: Indianapolis) and then you don’t actually get to see much of it at all. I can’t even remember if that place I went to in Michigan was East Lansing or Ann Arbor. It’s whichever one is very close to Detroit.
I’m working on a semi-secret project at work that may prove to be the most fun work-thing I’ve done in months (years?). We shall see.
What is it?
Oh yeah, like I’m going to tell you.
Yeah! Ben’s a traitor! Consider: Osama ben Laden. Coincidence? If you’re not with us, you’re agin’ us!
In other news, Denny had better watch himself out at that farm; it looks really dangerous!
Yeah, gotta watch out for the trebuchets. Ay yi yi.
what kind of camera do you use? Im assuming it has a self-timer? the lighting looks great in your photos. are you using an artificial light?
I would like to hang out in their pirate ship, but man, if the parents in that show were my parents, they’d always be having me go outside and do stuff, showing me the value of hard work and whatnot. Damn overachievers.
hemmy: I use a Canon G2 and pretty much natural light (or whatever’s ambient) exclusively. However, I do use Photoshop to touch up levels if the light looks weird.
And thanks! Yes, I do use a self-timer for self-portraits (except the extended-arm kind).
Didn’t know you watched LPBW. I’ve seen it on Discovery a few times and enjoy it a lot. Then again what don’t I enjoy on that channel – I like MythBusters, Deadliest Catch, Dirty Jobs, I Shouldn’t Be Alive…
