Bill Richardson + Aprille ≠true love
Iowa, for good reason, for constitutional reasons, for reasons related to the Lord, should be the first caucus and primary. –[Presidential hopeful Bill] Richardson said Monday, Sept. 3, 2007 at the Northwest Iowa Labor Council Picnic, according to the Des Moines Register.
Um…what? A little more analysis can be found here.
Dude, you used to be my second-choice candidate, but now you’re turning all weird on me. What does “the Lord” have to do with the order in which states have caucuses and primaries? I like Iowa going first—it gives me lots of opportunities to see candidates live—but I think most people would agree that it’s pretty much non-Lord-related in nature.
Between that and the “being gay is a choice” thing, I think I’m dumping Bill R.
When you’re in Iowa, throw around “Lord” and “God” a lot. Oh, and “corn subsidies.” Caucusing 101.
I don’t know why they get weird all of a sudden, but this is cracking me up. I’m going to start using that justification whenever I have to make a solid argument.
Map’s comment made me giggle; I’ve never thought of Iowa as being a particularly religious place since moving here nearly a decade ago… from Utah.
i’ve hated richardson since i 1st saw him and his total disregard for gay rights on colbert; i also hated his verbose, redundant, pushy, pointless “bring our boys home NOW!” mantra (seemingly the full extent of his platform?) during the one dem. debate i managed to take in. he strikes me as a markedly thick skulled twit, just from his blustering tone and mannerisms.
